MECD, Manchester Engineering Campus Development. one of our longer running projects. We are glad to maintain our good working relationships in supporting Johnson Controls International in getting this beast of a job over the line.

Covid19 had impacted gravely on the construction schedule. All management and engineers were under pressure to ensure the safety of there colleagues.

The construction site shut down for less than a week whilst new risk assessments were implemented. in preparation for reopen inline with new government guidelines and Covid19 operations where the new logistics slowed the job down to nearly a stand still.

Mecd had depopulated to less than half of the usual attendance. One way systems were put in place. turning the workplace into a logistical nightmare. break times were scattered throughout the day and site open times had increased. all of which to aid the prevention of over crowding, to ensure safe working distances of each individual and that of the grand objective of reducing the spread of Covid19.

The project began around September 2018, was initially planned for a grand opening in September 2020, this has now be relaxed and expected be ready for occupying by September 2021.
